Thriving state wide Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo headed for Cairns
The 2009 Former Origin Greats (FOGS) Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo will move to Cairns in July following the success of the event in both Townsville and Rockhampton with thousands of job seekers in attendance.
The expo in Cairns, which already has over 45 prominent Queensland employment, education and training providers confirmed to exhibit, will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre on Wednesday 29 July two weeks following the third State of Origin game.
A host of Queensland State of Origin legends including Allan Langer, Greg Conescu and Sam Backo will make special appearances at the expo, and it is anticipated more former players will announced to attend leading up to the event.
Set to be held in Cairns for the first time, the expo will provide Cairns Indigenous job seekers with the unique opportunity to connect with prominent Queensland employment, education and training providers exhibiting available opportunities which can be applied for on the day.
The Australian Government is providing funding for the six expos which will include displays from employers and industries in each of the regions and will provide Indigenous job seekers and school students with a chance to meet with employers and discuss employment and training opportunities.
The events are proudly supported by the Principal Sponsor, Construction Skills Queensland and Gold Sponsor, Australia Post.
Applications to exhibit at the Cairns expo will be welcomed up until Wednesday 1 July. However as space is strictly limited it is recommended you click here to download your booking form now to secure this opportunity.
Applications to exhibit at the expos to be held in Mackay on Wednesday 12 August, Mount Isa on Wednesday 9 September and Brisbane on Wednesday 7 October are also welcome.
