Cairns Kicks Off another great year of FOGS Expos

THE successful FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expos have kicked off for another year, with the travelling job and training roadshow getting underway in Cairns on March 20. This year marks five successive years that the FOGS Expos have been held in Cairns, and once again it was standing room only at the Cairns Convention Centre for the city’s most successful Expo yet.

Record-breaking FOGS Expo series concludes in Brisbane

The most successful FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo series yet wrapped up in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday October 5, 2011. Over 4,000 Indigenous job seekers and school leavers were drawn to the event which brought the state-wide total of attendees this year to 14,000; an increase of approximately 2,000 from the 2010 series and 4,000 from the inaugural 2009 series.’

New Expo deal a win for Queensland Kids

The FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expos will continue to help “bridge the gap” for another two years, thanks to the Australian Government’s Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. FOGS Executive Chairman Gene Miles is “delighted” to announce that a new funding agreement with the Federal Government with see the ultra-successful Expos continue in 2012 and 2013.

Success in Toowoomba fuels momentum for Brisbane expo

The inaugural Toowoomba FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo was held on Wednesday September 14, 2011 at the University of Southern Queensland’s Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre. Over 500 Indigenous job seekers and school leavers from Toowoomba and surrounding areas were drawn to the event to apply for jobs, try some trades and meet their Rugby League heroes.

Queensland State of Origin heroes will come together in Toowoomba next Wednesday September 14 to support the first ever Toowoomba Former Origin Greats (FOGS) Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo. The free event open to Indigenous school leavers and job seekers from Toowoomba and surrounding areas will be held at the University of Southern Queensland’s Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre between 9am and 2pm.

Thaiday thrills Jobseekers at Rocky Expo

Rockhampton job seekers and school leavers were treated to a special appearance by Sam Thaiday at the 2011 Rockhampton FOGS Indigenous Employment and Careers Expo on Wednesday August 24. Thaiday was a late addition to the team of Former Origin Greats and current players showing their support at the event held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.
