Rural Communities Program
FOGS members regularly visit country centres to assist with fundraising, improve player participation levels and to promote rugby league. Areas visited recently include Charleville, Monto, Mundubbera, Eidsvold, Gayndah, St. George, Dirranbandi, Kilcoy, Kingaroy and Cloncurry.
Charity Fundraising
Since its inception FOGS has raised over $500,000 for various charities including Mardi Jackson Foundation, Kim Walters Choices Program, Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Hear and Say Centre, Cyclone Larry Appeal, Childhood Cancer Support, Ronald McDonald House.
Sponsorships
More recently FOGS has committed to sponsoring the A Grade and Under 19 competitions of the Queensland Cup (South East Division) initially for seasons 2006, 2007, 2008 and has just been extended for a further three years.
Maroon Day
Funds are to be raised through the sale
of wristbands and mini footballs at McDonald’s outlets throughout the
state during the 2009 State of Origin series.
Proceeds will be shared by Childhood Cancer Support and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Charity Luncheon
Held annually the day before the first
Queensland-based State of Origin game, the FOGS charity luncheon is one
of FOGS largest fund-raising activities.
Major beneficiaries include: Mardi Jackson Cancer Research and Junior Rugby League Development
FOGS raises funds through a number of sources including luncheons, promotional appearances and merchandise/memorabilia sales, and is extremely grateful to our sponsors for their support, allowing us to conduct and expand our community activities.
